Widening Reach

Description: Widening the reach and impact of our information service

Choosing Autism Interventions: A Research-Based GuideResearch Autism has a firm commitment to ensuring that our independent and impartial information about autism treatments and therapies reaches those who need it the most, particularly disadvantaged communities.

We therefore continue to seek ways in which to make our information more accessible particularly, though not exclusively, by utilising new and available technologies.

The focus of this work was (and is) twofold:

- first, through the provision of information to individuals and families living with autism, who seek practical and tangible solutions to the problems they face

- second, by targeting key organisations and professions, such as the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and others, to better inform the practices of the health and social care professionals who support people with autism.

Key to the successful delivery of this work is our Information Manager, whose role is to ensure that all of our current and future information, both on the website and in our publications, remains up-to-date, relevant and useful.

Impact:

- Improved awarenss of autism and the issues facing people on the autism spectrum

- Imroved awareness of, and use of, evidence-based interventions.
