Heart rate variability (HRA or HRV) biofeedback is a form of biofeedback training which is designed to measure and slow the participant's heart rate.
HRV biofeedback is used to treat a range of conditions including anxiety, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and irregular heartbeat.
Some people believe that it can also be used to help people on the autism spectrum by reducing their anxiety, and helping them to activate their 'social engagement system'.
