G Therapy

G therapy is another term for homeo-biochemic formulation therapy, a homeopathic remedy based on plant oils which are highly diluted and then added to biochemical salts.

GABA

GABA is an acronym for gamma aminobutyric acid, an amino acid which acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system.

GABA Receptor Agonist

GABA receptor agonists are drugs that encourage the action of GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid).

Galantamine

Galantamine is in a class of medications called acetylcholinesterase inhibitors or cholinesterase inhibitors.

Gamma Aminobutyric Acid

Gamma aminobutyric acid is an amino acid which acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system.

Gamma Linolenic Acid

Gamma linolenic acid is an omega-6 fatty acid found in some plants, such as borage and evening primrose.

Garlic

Garlic is a herb which is sometimes used as an antifungal treatment.

Gaze-Contingent Display

A gaze-contingent display changes what it shows or does depending on where the viewer is looking.

GcMAF

GcMAF or Gc-MAF is an acronym for Gc protein-derived macrophage activating factor, a protein that primes macrophages so that they become toxic to tumours, pathogens and other harmful cells in the body.

Gemmotherapy

Gemmotherapy is a type of drainage therapy, a treatment which uses the buds and other very young parts of plants to stimulate elimination of toxic compounds from the body.

Gentle Containment

Gentle containment is another term for holding therapy, an intervention which consists of forced holding by a therapist or parent until the child stops resisting or until a fixed time period has elapsed

Gentle Teaching

Gentle teaching is a non-violent approach for helping people with special needs and sometimes challenging behaviors.

Geodon

Geodon is a brand name for ziprasidone, a type of atypical antipsychotic drug.

GF diet

GF diet is an acronym for the gluten-free diet, a diet which avoids or reduces foods which contain gluten, a substance found in cereals.

Giant Steps is a school-based programme which offers a range of therapies.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba ia a herb extract used to treat circulatory disorders and enhance memory.

Glandular Therapy

Glandular therapy is another term for stem cell therapy, which include various procedures in which processed tissue from animal embryos, foetuses or organs, is injected or taken orally.

Glutamine

Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid used as a dietary supplement.
