Carbohydrates are simple organic compounds essential for many processes in living organisms found in many foodstuffs.
Some people believe that some forms of carbohydrate may help to cause or manage the problems associated with autism. For example, the specific carbohydrate diet excludes complex carbohydrates, such as those found in rice and potatoes. These carbohydrates are replaced with simple carbohydrates, such as those found in bananas and squashes.
