Tranquillisers
Tranquillisers or tranquillizers are a large group of drugs designed to tranquillise i.e. calm, the mind.
Major tranquillisers (also known as antipsychotics or neuoleptics) are used to treat a range of mental health problems including psychosis, anxiety and dementia.
Minor tranquillisers (also known as anxiolytics or sedatives) are used to treat feelings of anxiety or nervousness caused by stress or psychological problems.
