Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is the provision of information about conditions such as autism.

Level one psychoeducation involves teaching facts about the condition.

Level two psychoeducation is a more intensive process that aims at psychological change by helping people with a condition (or their families or carers) to take in information about that condition and apply it to themselves (or the person with the condition).

Level two psychoeducation aims to increase the utility of diagnosis, by encouraging people to use information about the condition to understand themselves (or the other person) better.
