Autism 1-2-3 Project
The Autism 1-2-3 Project is an early intervention for children on the autism spectrum and their parents developed by staff at the Duchess of Kent Child Assessment Center of the University of Hong Kong.
The programme focuses upon basic elements of communication including eye contact, gesture, and vocalisation.
The trainer trains the children in using eye-contact, gestures, and vocalisations, and teaches parents to use the corresponding techniques at home.
This is designed to help the children’s transfer of skills into real life setting at home, and help parents to acquire some strategies to communicate with and manage their children, thereby increasing their confidence in parent-child interaction.
